1. Scope and controller

This Privacy Policy applies to the Pakeup iOS application and this legal website. It does not cover Apple services governed by Apple's own notices.

The operator and controller is Hengtong Li (李恒通). Privacy questions may be sent to hengtong.li@foxmail.com.

2. Information used by the app

Depending on the features you choose, Pakeup processes the following information:

Alarm settings, including scheduled time, label, mission type, repeat schedule, ringtone selection, and on and off state.
Mission records, including the date and time an alarm mission was completed, mission outcome, and the resulting pet sticker image.
Together session records, including session date, timer settings, elapsed time, and session outcome.
Alarm and mission log shown in the in-app calendar view.
Camera captures used to take a photo during an alarm mission or a Together photo session; the frame may include a pet and other visible content. Photos are processed on device by Apple Vision framework to recognize cats and dogs. Temporary image files used during processing are deleted after a sticker is created or the session is dismissed.
Location data, when you choose to enable the optional location feature, used only to detect proximity to a home location you set. Location events are processed on device and your home coordinate is stored locally.
App preferences, purchase and subscription entitlement status, and technical diagnostics you choose to send in a support request.
If you apply for the optional Pro sharing activity, we process the post link, engagement screenshot, App Store country or region, and email address you voluntarily send. Standout applications may also include profile information you choose to provide. This material is used only to review eligibility, prevent duplicate claims, issue an Offer Code, and resolve related questions. Evidence screenshots are deleted within 90 days after review; a minimal record of the email, post link, region, decision, and issued code may be kept for up to one year.
Notification preferences you configure, such as reminder schedules, stored only on your device.
Pet Den information, when you choose to create a den: the den name you enter, the pet stickers you choose to show, neighbor requests you send or receive, and visit notes created when someone knocks. This is used only so you can invite people you choose and share selected stickers with them.

3. Camera and permissions

Pakeup requests camera access to take a photo when an alarm mission or Together photo session starts. The frame may include a pet and other visible content. Camera use is limited to the active session flow. You can deny or revoke camera permission in iOS Settings; doing so does not prevent alarm scheduling but prevents completion of the photo session.

Pakeup uses Apple AlarmKit to schedule system alarms. AlarmKit alarm permission is requested in iOS Settings. Denying alarm permission means alarms cannot be scheduled.

Pakeup may request Always location authorization for an optional location feature. When this feature is enabled, location access is used in the background to detect when you leave and return to a location you have set. You can deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings at any time; doing so disables the location feature without affecting alarms or other features.

Pakeup does not request photo library access and cannot read or browse your Photos app. If you choose to save an original capture to your photo library, the app will request add-only photo library permission at that point.

Pakeup may request notification permission to deliver local alerts when a countdown session ends and for optional reminders you configure. Most notifications are generated on your device. If you use Pet Den, neighbor-request and visit notifications are delivered through Apple's iCloud infrastructure rather than developer-controlled servers. You can manage notification permission in iOS Settings.

4. Sources, purposes, and legal bases

Information comes from you and from on-device processing. The legal basis depends on your location and the feature involved.

Provide alarm scheduling, mission flow, Together session timing, sticker creation, and calendar history you request: performance of the service or contract.
Access the camera during an alarm mission or Together photo session: your affirmative iOS permission, which you may revoke in iOS Settings.
Use location in the background when you enable the optional location feature: your Always location authorization granted in iOS Settings, which you may revoke at any time.
Schedule system alarms through AlarmKit: your affirmative iOS permission.
Deliver local countdown and reminder notifications: your notification permission, which you may manage in iOS Settings.
Provide optional Pet Den sharing that you start: performance of the service, based on your decision to invite others or accept them as neighbors.
Process a photo on device using Apple Vision framework: provide the requested mission feature; results are not used for decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Protect, troubleshoot, and improve reliability without behavioral advertising: legitimate interests where permitted.
Respond to rights requests, disputes, and lawful orders: legal obligation or legitimate interests.

5. On-device storage

Pakeup does not require a Pakeup account and currently operates without a developer-controlled backend for alarm or sticker content. All alarm settings, mission records, Together session records, and sticker images are stored in the app's local SwiftData database on your device. When you enable the optional location feature, the home coordinate you set is also stored locally on your device.

Optional iCloud Backup is off by default. If you enable it in Settings, selected alarm and session records, preferences, and final sticker images are copied to your private iCloud database. If Pakeup finds an existing backup on another installation, you choose whether to merge it with data on that device or replace it with that device's data. Restored alarms remain off until you turn them on. This version does not provide two-way sync or automatic restore. Turning backup off stops future backups but does not delete an existing iCloud copy. You can permanently delete the iCloud backup in Settings without deleting data on the current iPhone. Removing the app deletes local data but does not delete an existing iCloud backup.

Pet Den is optional and is separate from iCloud Backup. Creating a den or sending an invite uses your Apple iCloud account. When you use Pet Den, Apple assigns a pseudonymous user identifier that lets other invited users recognize you within the feature; this identifier does not reveal your name, email, or Apple ID. Pet Den data is stored in Apple's CloudKit under three zones: a private zone for your local den data, a shared zone for content you make visible to accepted neighbors, and a public zone for invitation previews. People who open your invite link can see the public preview you chose, including your den name and the stickers you selected for that preview. Invitation links are not end-to-end private; anyone with the link may view its preview until you change or withdraw it. After you accept someone as a neighbor, additional stickers you keep visible to neighbors may be shown to them. This sharing is processed by Apple's iCloud services, not by a developer-operated social network, and it is not a private conversation with the operator. Ending a neighbor relationship, blocking someone, changing what you display, or deleting your den stops further sharing with the affected people. Removing the app does not by itself remove content already shared through Apple iCloud; use the in-app Pet Den controls, then manage remaining iCloud data through Apple if needed.

When you delete your den, the den name, invitation links, and stickers you shared are removed from CloudKit. When you end a neighbor relationship, that person loses access to neighbor-only content but their own saved copies may remain. When you block someone, they can no longer view your den or send requests; a minimal record of the block is retained to prevent future unwanted contact. When you withdraw an invitation, the public preview becomes inaccessible from that link. In each case, content already copied by Apple iCloud or saved by other people cannot be recalled by the operator.

6. Website data and cookies

This legal website does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not run behavioral tracking scripts. It is hosted by Vercel. When you visit, Vercel may process ordinary delivery and security data such as IP address, request time, requested page, browser or device information, approximate region derived from IP, and security logs under Vercel's terms and the operator's hosting configuration.

The legal website does not receive your Pakeup alarm, mission, or sticker data.

7. Disclosures and no sale

Pakeup does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use it for targeted advertising, or provide it to data brokers. Information may be processed only by:

Apple, when you use iCloud Backup, optional Pet Den sharing, the App Store, StoreKit, AlarmKit, camera, or Vision framework, under Apple's applicable terms.
Other Pakeup users you invite or accept as neighbors, who can see only the den name, stickers, and visit notes you choose to share with them.
Vercel, solely to host and secure this legal website.
Professional advisers or service providers bound by appropriate confidentiality and data-protection duties, if introduced and disclosed before use.
Authorities or other parties where disclosure is legally required, necessary to protect rights or safety, or part of a properly notified corporate transaction.

8. International transfers

Apple and Vercel may process information in countries other than where you live. Where the operator is legally responsible for a transfer, it will use an approved transfer mechanism and required supplementary safeguards, and will provide local disclosures or obtain separate consent when required.

9. Retention and deletion

Pakeup keeps information only as long as needed for the feature, your choices, legal obligations, and dispute or security needs.

Alarm settings, mission records, and Together session records remain until you delete them with in-app controls or remove the app.
Sticker images and temporary capture files used during a session are stored locally; temporary files are deleted after the session ends.
An iCloud backup remains until you delete it using Pakeup's iCloud Backup settings or manage it through Apple. Turning backup off, deleting local data, or removing the app does not by itself delete that backup.
Pet Den content you share remains available to the people you invited or accepted until you change it, withdraw it, end that relationship, delete the den, or it is removed under Apple iCloud rules.
Support correspondence and legal records are retained only for the request, security, tax, dispute, or statutory period that applies. Vercel logs follow the operator's configuration and Vercel's then-current retention terms.
If you submit a report about another Pet Den user, the report category (such as harassment or inappropriate content) and your description are retained until the matter is resolved and for any period required for record-keeping. Blocking records are retained for as long as needed to prevent unwanted contact. These records do not include the content being reported; they include only the report metadata you provide.

10. Security

Pakeup uses platform protections such as the iOS app sandbox, Apple permission controls, and encrypted network transport provided by Apple and Vercel. Access is limited to what is needed for the service.

No storage or transmission method is completely secure. If a breach creates a legally reportable risk, the operator will investigate and notify affected people and regulators as required.

11. Children

Pakeup is a general-audience lifestyle tool and is not directed to children under 13. A person below the age at which they may consent to data processing in their country should use optional personal-data features only with valid parent or guardian authorization. Special rules apply where relevant, including age requirements in South Korea.

12. Your rights and contact

Depending on where you live, you may request access, a copy, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent, and may complain to your local privacy regulator. Mandatory exceptions may apply. Because Pakeup has no custom account and alarm data is stored locally, the in-app controls are normally the most direct way to exercise these rights.

13. Changes to this policy

The operator may update this policy when features, providers, or laws change. Material changes will be presented in the app or by another legally appropriate notice before they take effect. The effective date and version above identify the current text.
